Facilitated by Dr. Jen Benkovitz and José Exiquio García

It’s time to transform professional development from “sit and get” meetings to learning-centered spaces that advance racial equity through critical dialogue and reflection about teaching and learning. In this workshop, we will collaboratively explore and practice using a variety of discussion protocols that have been adapted to include an equity-focused lens. Using authentic problems of practice from their context, participants will utilize these protocols to exchange feedback that challenges their beliefs and assumptions, engage in dialogue that fosters critical inquiry and reflection, and discover new mindsets and practices for supporting student and adult learning in their schools.

This session is being offered at the Dismantling White Supremacy Conference (June 14th-18th, 2021). You can register for the conference here.
